a new series
the last two months, i’ve been working on my fanart series for hazbin hotel just about every day. it all started with charlie and since then, i’ve done a total of 20 animated idle sprites. i work a full time job so my days consist of working at the office and making hazbin fanart, sneaking in a little time for stardew valley here and there. each piece takes me anywhere from 2-4 hours, some of the more detailed sprites taking up to 6 or so.
for the next series of fanart, i wanted to make things a little extra special. i spent over a week animating the show’s intro/title screen, and i wasn’t even sure how i planned to include it in the tiktoks. i just knew i had to!
i came up with lots of different ideas as to how i wanted this intro to look. the tricky part was trying to find a way to show the completed sprite collection while also showing my viewers i would be doing a portrait next, all in 3-5 seconds. i ended up going for a loading screen! since all this art is being done in a video game style, i figured it would be fitting.
one portrait down, 19 more to go. i’ll be relying on comment votes to decide who’s next, so don’t be shy dropping requests of your own. it’s so nice to have a community behind all the art to help me figure out what’s next. personally, i want to start with all the residents of the hotel first and go from there. i am trying to go from most to least important in not only the show, but the characters i will need within the game. there’s lots to do beyond making all the main characters though. behind the scenes i am trying to work on the development of the game as much as possible. it’s hard to make enough time for it though, and crazy how fast i went from drawing just whenever to having deadlines to meet.
i am excited to continue sharing all the art and updates with you all. portraits will be my focus for the next few weeks, and hopefully i’ll have some actual development updates for you all soon. in my next post, i have some new ideas i wanted to blab about so remember to check back and see what’s new from time to time!
